POP: Models to look out for

Yo Familia! We’re back again with one of our fan favourite segments, POP: Models to look out for, where we round up individuals we find over the gram that we feel need more recognition, exposure and credit for their work. This is our 5th edition of the segment we really hope you enjoy reading this as much as we enjoyed making it!

After coming across his TikTok page way back when, there is only one word that can be used, to sum up his fashion and modeling journey thus far, consistent. Over the past few recent years, we have seen a trend of fashion content creators delve into the world of modeling, from fit pics to working with some of the most popular, exciting local brands. Sonwabiso doesn’t just fit the description but he’s amongst the very few people in the industry who really and truly stay consistent with their output, continuously displaying his versatility in the arrangement of outfits over the years, while documenting his experimentation and understanding of proportions he’s been able to show the public that he’s no longer just tied down to being a content creator but a model, model brands need to keep their eyes on.

If you did not know her, now you do, Hlagu might just be THE model to look out for. Having spread her experience all across the board, whether working as a model for conceptual projects with local photograghers and creative directors; being featured in High fashion editorials or just being a part of magazine features [I guess this is another one on the board 😉 ] Hlagu is a force to be reckoned with, I’m just sad to only come over her work so late. I discovered her recently through her work on the the beautiful visual project, “DEADSTOCK.”

Having worked with the likes of the likes of Rich Mnisi, her resume really holds no weaknesses for all the brands on the lookout, and don’t get me wrong it’s not just her experience or beauty that makes her a model to look out for but her character as she has said that her love for what she does fuels her passion, and she strives to inspire others with her radiant presence and unwavering dedication to her craft. Embracing her uniqueness, she empowers others to do the same, embodying strength and elegance in every aspect of her life.

Our wildcard for the day, the wildcard represents an individual who we feel even though they haven’t really and truly stepped into the role of modeling, they hold the capacity and potential to excel in the field if they were to venture in it. Syfohendrix is the fashion content creator of fashion content creators, building his audience through almost weekly outfit explorations and experimentations, he’s been able to relate with his community, showing them that there really is so much more you can do with the wardrobe you already have; he’s been able to do this all while showcasing his versatility and understanding of garments, as a brand owner himself, he’s coming to understand the structure of clothes and how they best fit styling wise.

It’s because of his strong connection to his community, his versatility, his consistency and his willingness to experiment that I feel brands need to look out for him for modeling not just promotion.

Where do I even start? One of the best, exciting, and promising models in the country right now. With some of his work going back to early 2022/late 2021, his growth in style, variety, and experimentation has been so well documented, from fit pics to runway.

Royz’s ability to connect with his followers and his dedication to his craft make him an invaluable asset to any fashion brand looking to make a significant impact.
