The underground is HERE, and it’s definitely here to stay, if you ask me. The camaraderie I saw this past week and weekend was nothing short of beautiful. A huge shoutout to CRTVSHOTS—this young man is definitely a force to be reckoned with. At just 18 years old, he’s shot and directed countless music videos and visuals for the SA underground hip-hop scene. This weekend, he organized alongside his team (shoutout to @saucenberg, @southmadeit, @chuby_prod, according to his caption—they definitely cooked).
“Today is a Good Day” is one of Kupa’s latest tracks from his tape BEFORE THE WORST, which dropped on May 23rd. CRTVSHOTS organized and mobilized a crowd for the music video almost a week before the shoot, creating two WhatsApp group chats: one for media with over 130 people and another for general supporters who wanted to come through, which also had a ton of people. Using their connections, they got Hot Shot Aaron to rally his community to show up and support. On the day of the shoot, the energy in Rosebank was unreal, with tons of kulture supporters outside shooting vlogs and BTS of the video—a truly dope sight of community and a movement on the rise.
I got more to say, but I know y’all don’t be reading too much, so go check out the full video NOW on brotherkupa’s YouTube!
