With the anticipation of Young Stunna dropping his second studio album we have taken the time to study how he has managed to remain one of the most influential Amapiano artists in the world with only one studio album to his name.
Sandile Fortune Msimango aka Young Stunna first broke out into the Amapiano scene through the hit Single ‘Bopha’ which was released by Mellow & Sleazy and Felo Le Tee and it featured Stunna himself and Dj Maphorisa. The track went on to top charts globally and grab the hearts of piano lovers everywhere, some might argue that it was the deserving song of the year. A month after the Release of ‘Bopha’. The South African superstar dropped his one and only studio album ‘Notumato’. The album features the likes of DJ Maphorisa, Blxckie, Sizwe Alakaine, Kabza De Small and many more. It went on to debuted at number 1 and become certified Platinum. The albums intro, ‘Adiwele’ reached number 1 across SA radios with a total 23.4 million impressions. This one and only album gave Young Stunna his voice in the Amapiano scene. “My first album gave me so many opportunities, I met some of y’all, made friends, made family, got deals and I didn’t let any of them sliiiide, I’m Mashaya.”
Now we ask the question, how has Young Stunna done so much with only one album to his name? It’s simple, authenticity. Stunnas authenticity shines through his work. He fearlessly embraces his individuality, weaving personal experiences into his music. He is a genuine reflection of his emotions and perspectives, creating a distinctive narrative that resonates with listeners. It is this authenticity that has made people generate the ideology that he is arguably the best Amapiano artist right now.

In a recent Instagram post Stunna said “I can tell you a story and make both of us cry about it, came a long way yho, I deserve to shine. Thank God I met Papta and uncle phorry, God bless everyone I met and worked with through this journey, your situation is never your destination!” Young Stunna knows and understands the power he possesses in his hands and that makes him so lethal in the Piano industry. “I’ll continue taking care of my family and making sure this gift takes care of all of us, I’ll make sure to keep making meaningful music that won’t die, music that will change people’s lives, I’ll continue giving this my all, because without music there is no life. so let me give you some life & energy”.
In August 2023, Stunna reported his forthcoming second studio album and its lead single “uNonkosi”. The melody was delivered on August 18, 2023. The single is a recognition for the Msimango family and his forefathers. We anticipate this to be one of the biggest Amapiano albums to come out of South Africa yet. Stunna has grown as an artist since his days in Simnandi and we hope for him to reflect that through this project. All that is left for us to do now is to wait…
