Diving into the incredible journey of Sandile Kgaphola, the creative force known as SK Original. Hailing from Cape Town but now making waves in Polokwane, Sandile’s artistic adventure is a tale of pushing boundaries, exploring new mediums, and connecting with people in unforgettable ways.

Like many artists, Sandile’s passion was ignited in the colorful worlds of cartoons and anime. It all began during his last year of high school, right as the pandemic started. With lockdown as his canvas, Sandile embarked on a thrilling journey of mastering the art of drawing realistic faces. A full year of dedication later, he had transformed himself into a true artist. He attributes much of his artistic growth to his mom, who he feels is the family’s artistic genius, who nurtured his talent.

But what truly fuels Sandile’s artistry isn’t just his personal growth; it’s the incredible people he’s had the honor of creating for. Each individual holds a unique story, a testament to hard work and determination and hence he makes art of them. Among these stories, the legendary Robot Boii stands tall. Sandile’s journey continues to become more and more exciting as he crosses paths with these celebrities. Sandile  has had the opportunity to give the art he makes of them to most of them, in person through attending events and shows that they will be at or performing and he sees to it that he is able to deliver the artworks to them

In today’s digital age, social media is the star of the show in Sandile’s creative journey. It’s not just a platform for displaying his art; it’s a powerhouse for marketing and connecting with fellow creatives who have given his work wings. Now, let’s talk about versatility. Sandile’s art takes on many forms—double-sided art, rug art, drawings, you name it. But one of his most epic challenges? Glass art. It’s a medium where one wrong move can be costly, and Sandile shares every masterpiece with his eager audience.

Just for fun, here’s a quick rundown of the materials he’s used on his artistic adventures:

– Acrylic paint for double-sided paintings
– Hammer and glass for glass art
– Charcoal for drawings
– Yarn for rug art
– Red and blue markers for Red and Blue Art
– Wood-burning tool for pyrography

And guess what? Sandile’s favorite medium is the hammer and glass. It’s where he finds that sweet spot of expressiveness, something he’s always chased as an artist.
